I’m giving everyone permission to stop thinking/stressing about college for the rest of the week.
The holidays can be hectic enough without worrying about:
Paying for college
Financial aid
Scholarships
SAT/ACT
So let’s all take a break.
Today I’m making more Christmas cookies. Including one of my all-time favorite sweets – Grasshopper Squares. If you love dark chocolate and mint, you must try these insanely delicious brownies. This recipe was originally published in the December 2005 issue of Gourmet. I’ve got more than two decades of issues of the magazine stored in my garage.
My son Ben will make his annual appearance in the kitchen today to make the Spritz cookies — my favorite. He is the only one who can finesse the cookie press.
For our dinner on Christmas Eve, we will be eating our traditional dinner — fish tacos. Yes, fish tacos. We live in San Diego, after all, which is the culinary epicenter of fish tacos and my daughter’s favorite food.
No matter how you enjoy the holidays, I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing time. There will be plenty of time begin fixating about college next year.
